After a year of planning your wedding celebrations, you might find the big day passes in the blink of an eye. The morning after you might feel it was all over far too quickly.
So how can you extend your wedding proceedings to make it a slightly longer and more memorable affair? One popular idea is to have a post-wedding brunch where you can wrap up the festivities with close family and friends by having brunch together.
A brunch is perfect if you want to have a lie-in the day after your wedding. The other great thing about a post-wedding brunch is that the pressure is off and everyone can relax and enjoy themselves. With the wedding over, you have the opportunity to spend more time with those who are close to you before everyone heads back home.
You may be thinking a brunch is an extra, unnecessary expense but it doesn’t have to be. You could serve a simple brunch at your own home, or perhaps the home of a relative. No lavish decor is needed - it's just you, your family and your closest friends enjoying time together. Coffee, bagels, pastries, doughnuts, waffles and fruit may suffice. Prosecco with strawberries, blueberries, fresh orange juice, peach juice and a variety of syrups would go down a treat.
You could theme the brunch If you are heading off to an exotic destination. If you are honeymooning at a beach destination, open coconuts, pineapples dressed with cocktail umbrellas and cherries could decorate the brunch tables. If off to the Big-Apple for your honeymoon, double cheese burgers, fries and your favorite IPA might be fun. If off to Italy, maybe pizza and pasta dishes served with bubbly prosecco.
